Experience a taste of the UNESCO World Heritage Area, Te Wahipounamu – South West New Zealand. This 2.6 million hectare park stretches west from Queenstown, Wanaka and Glenorchy, across the Southern Alps to the West Coast and Milford Sound, including Fiordland, Mount Aspiring, Mount Cook and Westland National Parks. The landscape in this mountainous region has been shaped by successive glaciations into fjords, rocky coasts, towering cliffs, lakes and waterfalls. Two-thirds of the park is covered with rainforest, including trees over 800 years old, and the area is home to many unique native birds and vegetation. Our Glenorchy Encounter and Majestic Milford Tours offer guests a guided introduction to this stunning natural wilderness region.
